Not every project is a large country house or a penthouse with a view.
In fact, some of my most cherished designs have been on a slightly smaller scale;  a sitting room, dining-room or other apartment.
Here, I am pleased to present some of those special projects, of which I am, quite personally, very proud.
This bathroom for a gentleman's home in Chicago was refurbished to
present the appearance of a private, traditional club, and resulted in a
complete transformation of the space.  The rich, dark colours of forest
green, tobacco and cherry are accented by paisley-striped wallpaper and
gleaming brass fittings.  Even the bath towels were selected to
coordinate with the design scheme, adding further texture.

Thank you, Denis, for the pleasure of your custom.

Villa Suburbana
A Suburban Gazebo
This lovely sitting room in Highland Park is warm & inviting with
colour and texture, featuring classic Prairie-style sofas in wool &
leather, accented by modern, upholstered side chairs in cherry.  The
combination of contemporary & traditional pieces in this room gives
it an air of freshness & liveliness.
This contemporary sitting room in a Chicago townhouse is warm &
inviting, yet remains a hallmark of modern design.  A special,
signature touch is the cluster of small, square coffee-tables in the
centre, which can be easily moved about for parties.  The tall walnut
cabinets flanking the fireplace were one of my favourite custom designs
for this client.
A Townhouse Sitting Room

This charming gazebo in Gurnee was created for a colleague whilst at
Legat Architects;  it really is beautiful, isn't it?
The basic frame was made of stock parts;  the overall design &
detailling were combined to create a Mission-style summer-house for
the client to use almost year-round.
I'm really proud of this one;  a highlight of my love of Frank Lloyd
Wright and his work in Illinois.

Thank you, Casey!

The dining room makes excellent use of the Mission style in its
updated furnishings, fully complemented by handsome woven textiles
for the dining cloths & chairs, many from Finland, serving as a crisp
foil to my client's French table service.

Thank you, Chris & Tammie;  it is a pleasure to work with you!
This comfortable family room in Lake Forest is fitted with a large
sectional sofa, adorned with lots & lots of wonderful throw pillows
and accented with antique brass Stiffel lamps.  The matching
ottomans are upholstered in complementary tartan wools.

Thank you, Dirk & Hillary, for the pleasure of your custom!
